Welson Tremura
Professor in the University of Florida School of Music and Center for Latin American Studies.
Welson Tremura specializes in ethnomusicology, Brazilian and Latin American music, folk religion, world music, digital technology, and interdisciplinary performance. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses, directs guitar and vocal ensembles, and uses technology to connect performers and audiences across countries.
His research examines music and religion through the Brazilian Folia de Reis tradition, while his creative work joins scholarship, teaching, composition, performance, and international collaboration.
